The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has announced that over the past 15 years, more than Dhs 10 billion has been raised for various humanitarian programmes.
The money raised was aimed at relief operations, development projects, orphan sponsorships and reconstruction programmes for around 228 million people in 128 countries.
Over Dhs 1 billion was used for programmes in the UAE, benefiting 2,409,741 people.
Additionally, 26,706 people volunteered with ERC, contributing 2,441,991 hours to various causes.
With aims to help people in disaster and affected regions, humanitarian aid of Dhs 406 million was given, benefiting 512,816 people.
