The Digital School, under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, has launched the second phase of its 'Donate Your Own Device' campaign, in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent. The goal is to collect and refurbish 100,000 used electronic devices to support students from underprivileged groups across the world. The initiative focusses on humanitarian aid, digital education, and environmental sustainability.
Donated devices will either be refurbished for student use or responsibly recycled to reduce e-waste. The campaign hopes to cut nearly 200 tonnes of electronic waste and expand digital access to thousands of learners.
Building on the success of its first edition, which collected over 50,000 devices and involved more than 100 UAE institutions, this campaign is now a permanent national effort. Residents and organisations are encouraged to contribute by donating used electronics or supporting financially through official channels registered with the Emirates Red Crescent or directly through the campaign website. You can also contribute by sending a text message to 2441 for e& subscribers, or to 3551 for Du subscribers.
