Eid Likely To Fall on 22 April

The International Astronomy Center has mentioned that Eid Al Fitr is likely to fall on Saturday, 22 April.

The Moon Sighting Committee in the UAE will meet on Thursday, 20 April, to announce the official dates.

If the moon is sighted on Thursday, 20 April, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, 21 April, with most residents getting a four-day break till Sunday, 23 April.

However, if the moon is not visible, Saturday, 22 April will be marked as Eid Al Fitr and will see public and private sectors getting a five-day long break.

As sighting the moon without the use of a precise telescope will be difficult in most Islamic countries on Thursday, 20 April, the International Astronomy Center mentioned that Eid Al Fitr would mostly fall on Saturday, 22 April, with the Holy Month of Ramadan lasting for 30 days.
