The Fatwa Council in the UAE has announced that based on the sighting of the moon, if Eid Al Fitr falls on Friday, 21 April, Eid Al Fitr and Friday prayers will be held separately.
The Council said, "The issue of performing Friday prayer if Eid Al Fitr falls on Friday is a controversial matter among Muslim scholars, however, the Council rules that each sermon is to be held separately on its time as per its sunnah."
The decision was approved after a ruling from the majority of Muslim scholars and Islamic schools.
