Etihad Airways, along with Marriott International, have completed the initiative to plant 12,000 mangrove trees.
As part of the Etihad Marriott Mangrove Forest project, the aim of the initiative was to increase the natural habitat by planting trees at Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi.
Throughout the project, employees were able to participate in the conservation of the forests and can now track the progress of the trees planted via a dedicated app.
Mangrove trees help to store 6.4 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is four times more than any other tree, that over time will help in fighting against climate change.
