Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has hit a new record.
On 22 February, in a single day, 2 million passengers used public transport services in Dubai.
Rather than opting to drive, individuals utilised public transport services including the metro, tram, bus, shared transport, taxis and marine transport.
Dubai is continually making travel in the city convenient to all with the ample transportation options available, aiming for a sustainable experience for all.
Additionally, by 2026, Dubai aims to add a new form of transportation through aerial taxi services.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, announced the milestone via a tweet and said, "2 million passengers used Dubai’s public transport in a single day, marking a new record. Thank you RTA for delivering the world’s best mass transit services."
