Emirates is set to repurpose the Emirates Pavilion at the Expo 2020 site as well as launch NFTs.
Known for their innovative products, both collectable and utility-based NFTs and experiences will be launched in the metaverse in the upcoming months.
The Emirates Pavilion will become a centre for innovation, bringing talent from all over the world with the airline’s future-focused projects to the metaverse, NFTs and Web3.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive at Emirates Airline and Group said, “Emirates has always embraced advanced technologies to improve our business processes, enhance our customer offering, and enrich our employee's skills and experiences. We are excited about the opportunities in the digital space of the future and are committing significant investment in financial and resource terms, to develop products and services using advanced technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and business efficiencies. It is fitting that our future-themed Emirates Pavilion at Expo is being repurposed as a hub to develop cutting-edge future experiences aligned with the UAE’s vision for the digital economy.”
In 2021, Emirates was the first airline to launch its own VR app on the Oculus store featuring real-life experiences, aboard the A380 aircraft and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Additionally, the most popular attraction at the Emirates Pavilion was the VR journey showcasing future aircraft cabin interiors.
