With 2020 coming to an end in a few days, Nakheel has announced some precautionary measures that will be in place for the New Year's celebrations at Palm Jumeirah.
As Palm Jumeriah is one of the most popular places visited for New Year's, Nakheel along with the Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), are prioritising the safety and convenience of the public, and also ensuring a smooth flow of traffic.
Nakheel has increased the number of public buses from Nakheel Mall to The Pointe and are offering free rides from 7pm to 3am on New Year's Eve.
Careem is also offering a discount on journeys to and from The Pointe till 1 January 2021, passengers can use the code 'THEPALMFOUNTAIN'.
On 31 December 2020, pedestrian crossings on Trunk Road at Junction 2 (near the Shoreline Apartments, Building 5) and Junction 4 (Building 10) will be closed from 9pm to 1am. The crossings at Buildings 3 and 7 will be open and managed by security.
Third-party contractors will not be given a permit on the 31 December 2020 and work will be suspended for a day.
Guests staying at the hotels and visitors that plan to use public transport are advised to plan their trip in advance and to make sure they have sufficient time to reach their destination.
