The Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand signed a mutual visa waiver for citizens of both the countries.
Citizens of the UAE that hold diplomatic and special passports do not require an entry visa to the Kingdom of Thailand.
Emirati citizens holding diplomatic and special passports have a visa exemption and can enter, exit and pass through Thai territories without a visa, with a stay period not exceeding 90 days from the date of entry.
This agreement will come into effect after the completion of constitutional procedures in both countries.
The agreement was signed by Khaled Abdullah Belhoul, the Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) and Waravuth Pouapinya, the Kingdom of Thailand’s designated ambassador to the UAE.
The agreement was signed after a bilateral meeting was attended by Faisal Issa Lotfi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Services Affairs at MoFAIC.
Khaled Abdullah Belhoul stated that this agreement strengthens the bilateral relations and friendship ties between the two countries, that was established over 45 years ago.
