H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Witnesses Completion Of Dubai’s Museum Of The Future

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared pictures and videos on his Twitter account as he witnessed the installation of the final panel of the Museum of the Future.

Dubai’s Ruler attended a ceremony on Saturday night that marked the start of the final phase of construction of the iconic structure.

“Covering an area of 30,000sqm, the seven-storey column-less marvel stands at 77m high, with 1,024 Arabic calligraphy panels on the façade manufactured by robots," High Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted.

The 78-metre-high Museum of the Future will include a research centre with labs and classrooms as well as a massive space for visitors to experience new technologies.

As a “global architectural and engineering icon”, it is one of Dubai’s most exciting and ambitious projects.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has designed a special solar photovoltaic (PV) plant which will supply 4,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy to the museum.

It will be the first structure in the Middle East to receive a Platinum Certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design “LEED”–the highest rating for green buildings across the globe.
