Apple Maps Launched In The UAE

Exciting news for Apple users, as Apple have just launched Apple Maps turn-by-turn directions in the UAE. Apple users can now use their iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and CarPlay to navigate their way around the country. 

 

Apple Maps turn-by-tun directions also has full Arabic language support to guide users.

 

An additional feature that will be added to Apple Maps over the next few days is Indoor Maps which will allow users to explore and navigate around locations such as Dubai International Airport (DXB), The Dubai Mall amd Festival City Mall which allows users to see what level they’re on, which stores and restaurants are open and where the nearest toilet is. 

 

Other features that Apple Maps includes are:

  • Collections - which offers users a way to easily build and share lists of their favourite locations, places they want to visit or top sites for their outing

  • Favourites - which gives users quick and easy navigation to the places they visit every day. Whether it’s home, work, the gym or school, users can simply tap and go once it’s in Favourites on the launch screen

  • Share ETA - which sends an estimated time of arrival to family and friends with a simple tap. The receiver can follow along on the journey, and Apple Maps will even update them with a revised estimate for when the traveller is arriving if they experience a significant delay

  • Flight status - which uses Siri to scan for information stored in Mail, Calendar or Wallet and proactively serves flight information for terminals, gate locations and departure times, as well as flight changes or cancellations for upcoming travel

Apple Maps does not require te user to sign in and is not linked to any Apple ID and has a personalised feature where a suggested leaving time is given to arrive for the next appointment in the calendar.
