Expired visa holders in the UAE have until 17 November to leave the country without facing any penalties. The original deadline to leave was 18 August however authorities have announced a further 3 month grace period.
The announcement was made by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and applies to those whose visas expired before 1 March 2020.
Anyone who leaves the country during this period will not be banned from re-entering at a later date.
People who are leaving through airports in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah are required to arrive at the airport 6 hours before their fight, and those flying out of Dubai are required to visit the deportation centre located at the Civil Aviation Security Centre near Terminal 2, 48 hours before the flight.
