Hope Mission To Mars Postponed Again

The launch of the Hope Probe that was initially scheduled to happen on 15 July and delayed to Friday 17 July has been postponed again due to bad weather at its launch site at Tanegashima Space Centre in Japan.

The announcement was made on the UAE Government Twitter page and a new launch date expected to be announced shortly for another date in July.

There is a three week opportunity to launch the Hope Probe, up to the beginning of August, where after that a two year wait will be needed before any further attempts can be made.

The Hope Probe is expected to reach Mars' atmosphere, 493.5 kilometres away, after 7 months, in February next year, and will orbit for a Martian year, which is 687 days, and aims to produce the first global map of the Mars' atmosphere.
