The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority has announced that all residents returning to the UAE from 1 July, will have to complete a COVID-19 test at an accredited laboratory. Currently there are accredited laboratories in 106 cities across 17 countries with more to be added over the next few days. Only those with a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the flight departure time will be allowed to board the plane.
Those residents returning from countries where there is no accredited laboratory, will under go COVID-19 checks on their arrival into the UAE and will then need to go for 14 days quarantine, either at their own home or if their home does not meet the requirements, at an approved quarantine facility at their own cost, or in some cases at the cost of the company that employs them.
All returning residents will also be required to download an approved mobile application to monitor their health status whilst in quarantine.
