An announcement informing all bars and pubs to stop serving alcohol with immediate effect and until further notice, has been by made by Dubai Police. This applies to bars and pubs that do not serve food, however restaurants can continue to serve drinks along with food ordered.
The Dubai Police announcement sent to the industry read “We would like to inform you that it has been decided to close all bars and pubs and stop serving alcoholic beverages as of Wednesday 24/06/2020 until further notice. Kindly inform and abide by the decision to close in order to avoid legal issues. You will be notified to restart at a later time.”
The ruling does not apply to outlets with a restaurant license, but to those with a bar or pub license, which also includes some pool bars.
