The restrictions of movement in and out of Abu Dhabi, that were originally in place from 2 June for one week and extended for a further week, have been extended by one more week with immediate effect. Since Tuesday 2 June it has not been possible to travel in or out of Abu Dhabi and movement has also not been been possible between different regions such as between Al Ain and Abu Dhabi City, however movement within the different regions is still possible.
The restrictions were initially extended by one week and scheduled to be eased on 16 June, however they remain in place until 23 June.
People working within vital sectors and passengers using Abu Dhabi International Airport are exempt from the restrictions, as are those with exceptional circumstances, however they have to apply for a permit to move.
