Guidelines On Wearing Face Masks Announced

A set of guidelines have been announced confirming the requirements for wearing a mask in public areas and when outside of the house, for different age groups.

Not wearing a face mask in public areas is still mandatory, and any violations face a hs 3,000 fine. 

As per the guidelines, these groups are exempt for wearing a mask: 

  • Children under the age of 6
  • People of determination with cognitive, intellectual or sensory disorders that hamper ability to breathe or communicate, and who have an official medical document
  • Individuals who require supplemental oxygen or have severe respiratory conditions, and who have an official medical document

There are also guidelines on situations where a mask can be removed which includes:

  • Driving alone or with members of the same family
  • Eating or drinking within indoor and outdoor settings
  • Engaging in strenuous exercise
  • Being alone in the office when not surrounded by others
  • Swimming or skydiving
  • Undergoing specific medical treatments
