Dubai Police has issued information reminding the public on the precautionary measures in place they are expected to follow, to contain the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.
The information posted in the Dubai Police Twitter feed also clarifies some information on the requirement to wear a face mask while in the car, and also confirms the amendment to how many passengers are allowed in a car.
If the car is only occupied by the driver then there is no fine for the driver for not wearing a mask, however if the car has other passengers them there is a fine of Dhs 1,000 for not wearing a mask.
There is also a Dhs 1,000 fine for exceeding three people in a vehicle who are not family or first degree relatives. This is predominantly applicable to taxis and those transporting other people who are not related. The precautionary measure was amended recently to encourage families not to leave their children at home.
