The UAE government had announced the extension of the National Disinfection Programme on Saturday, 4 April at 8pm, and following that announced further restrictions on movement by launching a website to apply for a permit to step out of the house for groceries and medicines on Sunday, 5 April in the evening.

Dubai Police has announced it will cancel all fines on cars caught on radars for movement violations between the announcement of the extension of the National Disinfection Programme on Saturday, 4 April, and the announcement made in the evening of Sunday, 5 April on further restrictions on movement and the need for all to apply for a permit to step out of the house for groceries and medicines

However, from now on, anyone stepping out of their house needs to carry a valid permit, except for those who work in essential sectors, who need to obtain a letter from their employers.

Dubai Media Office tweeted, "Dubai Police cancels the violations that were monitored by radars for violators of the restrictive movement restriction decision, from the announcement of the decision at 8 pm on April 4 until the permits site was activated. Everyone must obtain permission to avoid exposure to violations, and [undertake] legal accountability."
