Fireworks is something that Dubai does best.
Dubai’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration will be a bit different this year, however, as the Burj Khalifa plays 'backdrop' to a light show.
Emaar said that the Burj Khalifa will “come alive to the celebrations that will have several surprises in store this year”.
They also tweeted that it was time to "say goodbye to the old & hello to the new".
Although it was not stated whether the fireworks would be included in the display or cancelled, Emaar said, “The celebration last year was seamless and welcomed millions of visitors globally. This year, we have a very exciting concept, Light Up 2018, that will delight the world. We will provide more details towards the event.”
In previous years, the Burj Khalifa fireworks were a spectacle to behold.
