The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) is forecasting typical mid-summer conditions characterised by high daytime temperatures and a significant spike in overnight humidity.

From Monday 29 June through Thursday 2 July, coastal areas including Dubai and Abu Dhabi will experience consistent daytime highs peaking around 40°C to 41°C, while internal desert regions will see the mercury climb between 41°C and 46°C.

For Dubai and Abu Dhabi residents, the primary shift this week involves a steep rise in relative humidity levels during the late evening and early morning hours.

Coastal zones will experience maximum humidity levels reaching up to 85%, creating sticky conditions overnight, though inland areas will remain slightly lower at 80%.

Across the other Emirates, in Sharjah, daytime temperatures are forecast to hit a high of 42°C, while Ras Al Khaimah will experience a peak of 43°C and Al Ain will reach 44°C. The northern and western coastal borders, including Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, will maintain daytime ranges between 38°C and 39°C. Conversely, mountainous regions, particularly around Fujairah, will remain the country's coolest areas, recording maximum highs between 32°C and 38°C alongside localised afternoon cloud formations over the Hajar mountain range.

Overnight minimum temperatures will offer minimal relief from the summer heat across the country. Lower limits are expected to hover steadily between 30°C and 32°C in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, while the lowest internal temperatures will register at approximately 26°C in Liwa. Winds will remain light to moderate throughout the week, primarily blowing from the south-east in the morning before moving north-westerly by the afternoon under the influence of regional land and sea breezes, occasionally reaching speeds of 35kph.
