Dubai Police have seized a vehicle after its driver performed dangerous stunts in Dubai Marina, putting lives at risk and disrupting traffic flow.
The driver engaged in reckless behaviour, including sudden swerving and stunt driving on a public road, posing a serious risk to other motorists and pedestrians. Dubai Police identified and stopped the vehicle, to enhance safety across the emirate. The driver was also detained.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, confirmed that the case falls under the 'Quiet Roads' initiative, which aims to improve quality of life, strengthen community safety, and reduce traffic disturbances and noise in residential areas.
Authorities warned against dangerous driving behaviours and stressed that strict penalties will be imposed on anyone who endangers lives or property, including vehicle impoundment and referral to court.
In addition, monitoring has been intensified across key roads through patrols and smart surveillance systems, with a zero-tolerance approach to actions that endanger public safety.
Dubai Police encouraged the public to report dangerous behaviour through the 'Police Eye' service available on the Dubai Police smart application.
