As part of the ongoing #BewareofFraud campaign, Dubai Police highlighted that unlicensed entities are increasingly active on social media platforms, where they promote misleading offers designed to attract victims and obtain money through deceptive means.
The force explained that these fake companies often publish appealing advertisements featuring significantly lower prices than those available in the market. These companies also claim to provide fast and immediate vehicle or health insurance services through seemingly attractive deals. This prompts some individuals to proceed with payments without verifying the legitimacy or licencing of the provider.
Dubai Police emphasised that all authorised insurance companies operating in the UAE are subject to strict supervision and regulation by official authorities. These companies follow clear procedures to issue policies and safeguard customer rights. The public is therefore urged to confirm the credentials of any insurance company or broker before completing transactions.
Specialised authorities are actively monitoring such fraudulent activities and taking legal action against those responsible. The public is encouraged to report any suspected fraud attempts immediately through the eCrime platform or by calling 901, which is dedicated to non-emergency cases.
