Dubai Municipality has announced plans to open 35 new parks across the emirate this year, with a total investment of Dhs 348 million. The move is part of the Dubai Parks and Greenery Strategy under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. It supports the city’s goal of improving the quality of life and strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading place to live, work, and visit.

The new parks will cover more than 340,000 square metres and will serve 23 residential communities. The park locations were chosen based on planning standards that make them easy to reach, with each park intended to be within five-minute walking distance from nearby neighbourhoods. The designs will also include features suited to the local climate and strong infrastructure to make the parks practical and comfortable for daily use. The aim is to make parks part of everyday life and give communities fair access to high-quality public spaces.

The parks are designed around five integrated zones to ensure inclusivity and continuous use throughout the day and across seasons. These include early childhood play areas, active playgrounds, sports facilities for youth and adults, social and experiential food and beverage zones, and flexible indoor and outdoor community spaces for events and gatherings.

Collectively, the parks will include more than 60 children’s play areas, 18 football fields, 20 multi-use sports courts, skate areas, running and cycling tracks, open green spaces, shaded seating, picnic areas, water features, and food and beverage destinations.

By 2040, Dubai Municipality aims to deliver 310 new parks and upgrade more than 220 existing parks.
