KHDA Announces Ramadan Timings For Private Schools

Dubai Media Office

The Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced school timings ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In a post shared on Instagram, KHDA has announced that school day should not exceed more than five hours. In addition, fasting students should be excused from physical education classes, under new guidance for private schools.

This means, on Friday, private schools must end the school day no later than 11.30am, allowing time for students and staff to perform their prayers.

Authorities have capped school day timings, taking into consideration parents' feedback regarding start and end times of the school day. The measures are taken to provide a balanced learning environment during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
