Dubai's Burj2Burj half-marathon returns on Sunday, 8 February. Thousands of runners will take to the streets, so expect significant early morning traffic diversions across some of the city's busiest routes.
The 21.1 kilometres course begins at 6.30am near the Museum of the Future on Al Mustaqbal Street and finishes at Umm Suqeim Park near the Burj Al Arab.
Race day requires temporary road closures to ensure the safety of runners, spectators, and the wider community. Below is a detailed breakdown of all road closures.
Early Morning Closures (5.30am to 8.30am)
- Al Mustaqbal Street: Southbound closed from Jumeirah Emirates Towers
- Lower Financial Street: Westbound, inner lanes partially closed
- Al Safa Street: Westbound inner, lane will be closed
- Al Wasl Road: Northbound, inner lane partially closed
- No left turns onto Al Hudaiba Road
Extended Closures
- Jumeirah Beach Road before Canal Bridge: Southbound inner lanes partially closed (6.30am to 9.20am)
- Jumeirah Beach Road after Canal Bridge: Southbound fully closed (5.30am to 8.25am)
Between 6.30am to 10.30am, the public will have controlled access to Al Manara and Umm Al Sheif Areas. Drivers may use Al Manara or Umm Al Sheif intersections as diversion routes. Most roads will reopen by 9.30am, though timing depends on race progress.
