Dubai Police have issued a new advisory warning the public about fraudulent domestic worker recruitment ads spreading across social media. Scammers are reportedly posing as legitimate hiring agents to deceive the public and collect money illegally.

The Anti-Fraud Centre explained that these fake profiles are targeting individuals seeking household help or support staff, tricking them with false promises of fast placements. To stay safe, authorities emphasised that one should only hire domestic workers through officially licensed and accredited recruitment offices within the UAE.

Transferring payments to unverified individuals or entities offering recruitment services online can lead to financial loss and legal trouble. Dubai Police reminded the public that abiding by official hiring procedures protects the rights of the employers, recruits, and agencies.

This alert forms part of the force’s ongoing #BewareofFraud awareness campaign, which aims to educate the public about new types of scams and promote caution when engaging with online advertisements.

Authorities urged everyone to verify the authenticity of any service before sharing personal information or making deposits. Suspicious recruitment offers can be reported through the Dubai Police Smart App (available on iOS and Android), the eCrime platform, designed for reporting cybercrime, or the Dubai Police call centre by dialling 901 for non-emergency reports.
