UAE Weekend Weather: Strong Winds, Dust And Rough Seas Expected

According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the UAE is set to see generally stable but cool winter weather on Friday, 2 January. The weather will be fair to partly cloudy, accompanied by a slight rise in temperatures.

The temperature in Dubai is expected to hit highs of 24°C and lows of 11°C. Abu Dhabi is set to witness highs of 24°C and lows of 16°C.

Winds will be light to moderate at times, while sea conditions are expected to be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and calm in the Sea of Oman.

Humidity is set to increase overnight and into Saturday morning across coastal and inland areas, raising the chance of fog or mist, particularly during the early hours.

Weekend Weather

Over the weekend, the weather is expected to become unsettled. 

On Saturday, 3 January 2026, skies will remain fair to partly cloudy, but windy. Winds will reach speeds of up to 45kph at times, especially over the sea. These winds may raise dust and lead to rough to very rough sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf by night.

Temperatures in Dubai will reach highs of 24°C and lows of 12°C. Abu Dhabi will witness highs of 24°C and lows of 17°C. 

On Sunday, 4 January 2026, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures. Winds could reach up to 50kph, reducing visibility in open and exposed areas. Sea conditions are likely to remain very rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. 

Temperatures in Dubai will reach highs of 25°C and lows of 14°C. Abu Dhabi will witness highs of 26°C and lows of 19°C.
