Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has set a new high in the latest distinctive vehicle number plate auction. Bringing in Dhs 109 million in total sales at the RTA's 120th event, the highlight of the event was plate BB12, which drew the highest bid of Dhs 9.66 million.

This was followed by AA25 at just over Dhs 8 million. Other sought-after plates included BB30 and CC100, selling for Dhs 6.74 million and Dhs 4.21 million, respectively.

RTA offered 90 distinctive 2, 3, 4, and 5-digit vehicle plate numbers from the codes AA, BB, CC, K, N, O, R, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. Among the highlights were the super numbers AA 25, BB 12, and BB 30 in the auction.

The auction was held on Saturday, 27 December 2025, with registration opening on Monday, 22 December 2025. Bidders were allowed to sign up online through the RTA website, at Customer Happiness Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha, or directly at the auction venue. Those who completed their registration early were given priority access.

All number plates were sold with a 5% VAT applied. To take part, bidders needed a Dubai traffic file, a Dhs 25,000 security cheque made payable to the RTA, and a non-refundable participation fee of Dhs 120.

The landmark auction reinforces Dubai’s status as one of the world’s most dynamic and high-value markets for exclusive vehicle number plates.
