Unstable weather is forecast across the UAE on Friday, 19 December, with skies turning partly cloudy to cloudy in many regions. Rainfall of varying intensity is likely, and some areas may experience lightning, thunder, and even hail, accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures.

Winds are expected to shift directions and strengthen at times, potentially causing dust and reduced visibility. Wind speeds are forecast to range between 20 and 40kmh, with gusts reaching up to 60kmh.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to be rough to very rough at times, while the Sea of Oman is also likely to experience rough waters, particularly during cloudy periods. High tides are forecast in both areas.

Dubai Municipality has urged residents and visitors to avoid beaches and refrain from maritime activities as unstable weather continues to affect the emirate.

Those in the UAE can report any water accumulation or emergencies immediately by calling the municipality’s hotline at 800900 or via WhatsApp, enabling rapid response teams to intervene where necessary.

While the worst might be over, unstable weather is expected to last over the weekend. The National Centre of Meteorology has stated that Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 December will possibly see rain due to expected cloud formations. Wind gusts will hit 50kmh at times, while the waters of the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will also be rough due to the conditions.
