The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced the New Year holiday for 2026 for public sector employees.
According to the circular, Thursday, 1 January 2026, will be an official paid holiday. Friday, 2 January 2026, will be a remote working day for federal government employees, except for those whose duties require otherwise.
MoHRE has announced that January 1, 2026, will be an official holiday in the UAE for all private sector employees. Since the first day of the year falls on a Thursday, offices will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026.
On this occasion, the Authority extended congratulations and best wishes to the leadership, government, and people of the UAE, as well as to all residents, praying for continued health and well-being.
