During the 54th UAE Eid Al Etihad celebrations, Dubai Police impounded 49 vehicles and 25 motorcycles and issued 3,153 traffic violations following widespread reports of dangerous and irresponsible driving.

Authorities also shared a video showing the kind of violations committed by many drivers. It showed illegal stunts, drag racing, and other hazardous behaviour, including leaning out of sunroofs, spray-painting vehicles, obscuring license plates, and driving erratically through residential areas.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, stressed that such actions not only endanger lives but also tarnish the spirit of celebration.

Dubai Police urged parents to guide their children toward responsible celebration and discourage reckless driving. The force also warned that violations will attract strict penalties, from fines to impoundment, aimed at maintaining safety and order on the roads.

The crackdown underscores Dubai Police’s commitment to enforcing traffic rules strictly, particularly during public holidays when incidents of reckless driving tend to spike.
