An Abu Dhabi resident, who is an Indian expat, has made history as the UAE Lottery's first-ever Dhs 100 million winner. Anilkumar Bolla claimed the jackpot in the Lucky Day Draw held on 18 October.
Bolla, who beat great odds by matching all seven numbers, walked away with the full Dhs 100 million after the jackpot went unshared.
In his first interview released by the UAE Lottery, Bolla shared the emotional story behind his winning ticket. Bolla revealed that he bought 12 tickets at once, each priced at Dhs 50, and that his winning numbers from the 'day set' were selected partly by chance through the Easy Pick feature. However, one special number from the 'month set', 11, was chosen to honour the month of his mother’s birthday.
Speaking of his win, Bolla described his disbelief when he realised his numbers had matched and said he plans to use his winnings to honour his parents and give back to the community.
