More than 25,000 students from 185 schools across Dubai are gearing up to take part in the biggest-ever edition of the Dubai Schools Games, organised by the Dubai Sports Council. The new season begins on 21 October and runs through 18 June 2026, covering a total of 107 competition days across multiple venues, including Danube Sports World, Al Nasr Club and Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, among others.
Now in its sixth year, Dubai Schools Games aim to build a culture of fitness and friendly competition among schoolchildren while discovering future sports talent. This year introduces structured qualifying rounds in football, athletics, volleyball, and basketball, allowing students to advance from school-level contests to official championship stages.
New tournaments have also been added in laser run, judo, jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, and water polo, offering young athletes more variety than ever before. A total of 25 sport categories will be represented this season.
The 2025-26 edition of Dubai Schools Games will also introduce live broadcasts of 13 tournaments and culminate with an awards ceremony on 25 June 2026. Students who excel will have their achievements recorded in official 'Talent Cards', opening doors to national selection, scholarships, and advanced development programs.
