Dubai Basketball made history on Tuesday night, celebrating a triumphant debut in EuroLeague, Europe’s most prestigious basketball competition.
The team secured the victory with a commanding performance against Belgrade powerhouse Partizan Mozzart Bet, in front of an electrified home crowd at Coca-Cola Arena.
This victory represents the promising journey of Dubai Basketball, a professional basketball club that was founded in 2024, which has now made its mark on one of the biggest stages of the sport.
The team started strong, racing to an early lead with Davis Bertans firing from long range. Despite the brief set back during the second and third quarters when Partizan Mozzart Bet took the lead, the response from Dubai Basketball was swift and clean. Mfiondu Kabengele, supported by Dwayne Bacon and Džanan Musa, powered the team back in front.
The final stretch was all Dubai Basketball, extending the gap to 20 points and cruising to a decisive finish. Jurica Golemac, Head Coach of Dubai Basketball, praised his side’s composure, noting that the win was vital for confidence and proof they can compete at the highest level.
The victory not only marked a dream EuroLeague debut but also positioned Dubai as a rising force in European basketball. Fans can look forward to the next home clash on 6 October at Coca-Cola Arena, when Dubai Basketball plays against Croatian team KK Split for the ABA League opener.
