The 1 Billion Followers Summit, organised by the UAE Government Media Office, announced the details of the world's largest AI Film Award, worth USD 1 million, in collaboration with Google Gemini. The award aims to redefine creative production by encouraging impactful films made using AI.
The AI Film Award challenges participants to produce films that are at least 70% AI-generated, using Google Gemini tools such as 'Veo' for video generation and 'Imagen' for visuals. Films must be 7 to 10 minutes long.
Submissions must follow one of two themes,‘Rewrite Tomorrow’ which presents an inspiring picture of the future or ‘The Secret Life of’, which demonstrates that everything around us has an unseen, untold story. The submissions will be judged on storytelling, creativity and execution.
Applications are open until 20 November, with finalists announced in January. The winning film will be revealed on the closing day of the summit. Submissions can be made through 1 Billion Followers Summit’s official website, and entries can be submitted in the name of one person only.
The 1 Billion Followers Summit, happening from 9 to 11 January 2026, will gather over 30,000 visitors, including 15,000 content creators and 400 global speakers. With participation from every major social media platform, it is positioned as the largest event dedicated to the creator economy.
