Abu Dhabi's Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced the successful completion of a drone parcel delivery trial in Abu Dhabi, conducted in collaboration with LODD Autonomous, a specialist in smart delivery and aerial logistics technologies.
During the test, a drone equipped with a robotic arm transported a package from Al Samha to KIZAD, guided by an advanced navigation system that ensured accuracy and efficiency. The trial forms part of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council’s strategy to position Abu Dhabi as a hub for next-generation mobility and logistics solutions.
Officials highlighted the potential of drones to accelerate e-commerce logistics, cutting delivery times from days to just hours, while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a leader in smart, sustainable transport innovation.
LODD Autonomous also showcased its latest project, the 'Hili' hybrid aircraft, capable of carrying heavy cargo. Combining electric motors with an internal combustion engine, the aircraft can take off and land vertically, eliminating the need for conventional runways.
