His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, visited Dubai Civil Defence to witness how artificial intelligence (AI) is being deployed to strengthen firefighting and emergency operations.
During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan observed advanced technologies such as the 'Explorer Robot', capable of navigating smoke-filled environments and creating 3D building maps. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed a robotic arm designed to carry heavy loads during rescue efforts, and the 'Shaheen' drone, developed to combat fires in high-rise towers.
Praising the Civil Defence team, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan said their efforts have reinforced Dubai’s standing as one of the safest cities worldwide and said, “The advanced systems, innovative technological solutions, and qualified human capital we have seen today represent an integrated model of institutional work built on innovation and commitment to the highest international standards in protection and safety”.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan also further stressed Dubai’s commitment to investing in defence capabilities, ensuring rapid response, cutting-edge technologies, and safeguarding lives and property.
The visit underscored the emirate’s vision of adopting future-focused solutions that enhance public safety, resilience, and quality of life.
