His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the release of his latest book 'Almatani Alhayah' which translates to 'Life Taught Me'. The first part of the book, which features 35 chapters, will be available in book stores on 25 September.
In this new work, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed reflects on nearly 60 years of public service, offering wisdom drawn from personal experiences, challenges and achievements. On a social media post, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed stated, "I wanted this book to be simple in its words, candid in its expressions, authentic in its meanings, so that it reaches from heart to heart. I tried to focus in this book on the human experience. I tried to understand the experiences I went through. I tried to focus on ideas, concepts and principles and not on projects and accomplishments, because ideas endure longer, concepts are broader, and principles are greater".
The book highlights a philosophy on leadership, governance and life. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed writes about his deep love for the UAE, his people, and his family, while sharing lessons of humility, resilience and compassion. “The best legacy we leave behind is not wealth, nor buildings and structures, but true wisdom, beneficial knowledge, and kind words that transcend borders and time, and from which all people may benefit”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed emphasises.
The new book is a unique chance to understand the values that shaped the nation’s journey and continue to guide its future. It adds to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed’s collection of influential works, including 'My Vision: Challenges in the Race for Excellence', 'Flashes of Thought', and a memoir titled 'My Story: 50 Memories from 50 Years of Service'.
