MoHRE Shuts Down 11 Unlicensed Domestic Worker Recruitment Offices

WAM

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, has shut down 11 unlicensed domestic worker recruitment offices in Al Ain.

The offices were found to be operating illegally, either without a licence or under licences issued outside Abu Dhabi, which is in violation of the laws. Authorities confirmed that legal, administrative, and financial penalties have been imposed on these offices, with cases referred to the Public Prosecution.

The move follows a series of complaints from families and employers about these providers failing to meet commitments. MoHRE highlighted the potential health and security risks of dealing with such unlicensed offices and urged the public to verify providers through the ministry’s official website.

This action is part of wider efforts to regulate the domestic worker sector. In the first half of 2025, MoHRE penalised 40 offices across the UAE for 140 violations of the Domestic Workers Law. Additionally, 77 unauthorised social media accounts promoting illegal recruitment services were also shut down.

Families can view the list of registered domestic recruitment offices on the MoHRE website and are encouraged to report complaints through the call centre number 600590000, the website, or the mobile app.
