Al Ain Zoo has achieved a new milestone with its membership in the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), placing it among the world’s leading institutions committed to wildlife conservation, education, and sustainability.
The recognition highlights the zoo’s dedication to protecting biodiversity and advancing environmental stewardship, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision to safeguard natural heritage for future generations. It follows earlier accreditation this year from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, making 2025 a landmark year for the zoo.
According to officials, WAZA membership opens opportunities for international collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and adoption of best practices that will have lasting impact on conservation efforts worldwide. The achievement also reflects the efforts of Al Ain Zoo’s staff, partners, and community in positioning it as a trusted global leader in animal care and sustainability.
Al Ain Zoo is open daily from 9am to 6pm, and includes a variety of experiences including educational talks and animal encounters. To plan your visit, check out their official website.
