UAE Airports Crosses One Billion Passengers In A Decade

Dubai Airports

Air travel in the UAE has reached record-breaking heights. More than one billion passengers passed through the country’s airports between 2015 and 2024, according to new figures released by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.

Passenger numbers grew from nearly 115 million in 2015 to almost 148 million in 2024, and total passenger numbers, including arrivals, departures and transit travellers, exceeded one billion during the ten-year period.

Aircraft movements also saw a significant rise in number. In total, there were more than 6.4 million arriving and departing flights over the past decade, a clear sign of the UAE’s growing role as a global travel hub.

The UAE also ranked first worldwide in air transport quality and made it into the top ten for five other aviation indicators. Officials say this reflects the country’s forward-looking strategies, strong infrastructure, and commitment to offering travellers world-class experiences.
