Passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport will soon experience even smoother journeys, as the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs announced plans to expand the Red Carpet smart corridor at Terminal 3. Developed in partnership with Dubai Airports, the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered corridor enables travellers to clear passport control without presenting any travel documents.
The smart corridor can handle up to 10 passengers simultaneously, reducing processing time to just 6 to 14 seconds per person. Using advanced AI, the system automatically verifies identities and flags any suspicious cases for manual checks, doubling processing capacity while maintaining strict security standards.
Currently available for departing passengers, the upgraded system will soon serve both arrivals and departures.
