Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced five new public bus routes and upgraded nine existing ones, making travel across the city more efficient for residents and families. The changes, which take effect from Friday, 29 August, are designed to match Dubai’s rapid growth and link buses more smoothly with the metro, tram and marine transport options.
The five new bus routes include:
- Route 31: Links Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai Outsource City, running every 20 minutes during peak hours.
- Routes 62A and 62B: Route 62A will operate between Al Qusais Industrial Area and Al Qusais Metro Station, while Route 62B will run between Al Qusais Metro Station and Ras Al Khor, with buses running every 30 minutes during peak hours.
- Route F26A: Connects Onpassive Bus Station with Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, with buses running every 30 minutes during peak hours.
- Route X91: Links Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Jebel Ali Bus Stations, skipping Business Bay Metro Station for a faster journey.
Nine existing routes that will be modified:
- Route 91: Passengers travelling between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Business Bay Metro Station should use the modified Route 91, which will run every 30 minutes.
- Route 7: Upgraded into a two-directional route, operating between Al Quoz Bus Station and Al Satwa Bus Station.
- Route F62: Made into a two-directional route, operating between Emirates Metro Station and Nad Al Hamar.
- Route 77: Upgraded into a two-directional route, operating between Baniyas Square Metro Station and Al Garhoud.
- Route X25: Shortened route, connecting Karama Bus Station and Silicon Oasis.
- Route 50: Continues to operate between International City Bus Station and Business Bay Bus Station without passing through Dubai Outsource City.
- Route 21A: Shortened route, from Al Quoz Bus Station to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station.
- Route 21B: Shortened route, from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Al Quoz Bus Station.
- Route J01: Buses will be rerouted within Jumeirah Village Circle.
