Smart AI-Powered Platform Transforms Driver Training In Dubai

Dubai is transforming the way drivers are trained and licenced with the use of Tadreeb, a smart digital platform launched by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The system, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), connects all driving institutes in the city, digitising the entire training and licencing process, from assessments to permits.

The platform currently serves over 250,000 trainees annually across more than 27 locations, supported by 3,400 instructors and 3,000 training vehicles. Each vehicle is geo-tracked, with all data integrated into a centralised system to ensure accurate monitoring and smarter decision-making.

According to Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licencing Agency, the platform has already cut waiting times for permits by 50%, reduced costs, improved trainee assessment accuracy, and lowered road fatalities among new drivers.

Internationally, Tadreeb has been recognised as the world’s first unified driver training platform approved by the International Commission for Driver Testing. It also won the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for innovation in road safety.

The RTA says further enhancements will be introduced using AI and advanced analytics, reinforcing Dubai’s vision of safer, smarter, and more efficient mobility.
