Dubai Police has launched the 'Your Neighbourhood Police' smart platform, giving residents a direct role in enhancing safety and security across the city. It is essentially a community service that allows all Dubai residents to volunteer in reporting security issues and other concerns.
Designed as more than just a reporting tool, the platform focusses on raising awareness, highlighting common security mistakes, and guiding communities on how to avoid them. Residents can also report behaviours that may affect neighbourhood harmony, with Dubai Police working alongside them to find solutions. The tool can be accessed via Dubai Police app or through the website, free of charge.
The initiative is part of the force’s broader vision of building stronger partnerships with the public. Through the platform, residents are invited to join community events, take part in police-led initiatives, and engage in social visits that strengthen trust and cooperation.
To encourage participation, Dubai Police has introduced a recognition system for active contributors, along with special training workshops for volunteers. This ensures that residents not only feel empowered but also better equipped to support the safety of their communities.
