The UAE has uncovered 405 cases of fake Emiratisation during the first half of this year, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).
The violations were detected through a mix of field inspections and digital monitoring, where companies were found issuing contracts to Emiratis without actually providing employment. Authorities confirmed that legal measures have been taken against the firms involved.
Under the UAE’s Nafis programme, private sector companies are required to increase Emirati recruitment to their workforce by 2% annually. The initiative aims to create more meaningful opportunities for UAE Nationals, ensuring their active participation in the country’s growing private sector. MoHRE also affirmed its continued support for companies that meet the Emiratisation targets including up to 80% discounts on ministry transaction fees and priority access to government procurement system, through membership in the Emiratisation Partners Club. Compliant companies will also benefit from the support provided by the Nafis programme for UAE citizens’ wages, along with other benefits and advantages.
