On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, celebrated annually on 19 August, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Supreme Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values rooted in compassion, solidarity and human dignity.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed emphasised that the UAE extends support to those in need without exception, guided by the vision of its leadership. For several years, the country has ranked as the world’s top donor of humanitarian aid, with initiatives reaching millions globally and transforming lives in crisis-hit regions.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was credited for pioneering sustainable humanitarian programmes designed to empower individuals and strengthen communities. These efforts reflect not just financial contributions but also innovation in addressing long-term challenges.
