Dubai’s tourism sector has set another milestone, welcoming 9.88 million international visitors between January and June this year, marking a 6% rise from the same period last year, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, credited the growth to Dubai’s unique mix of infrastructure, attractions, and innovation, calling tourism a key driver of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
The city’s strong performance was supported by a diverse visitor base with Western European countries leading with 22% of arrivals, followed by visitors from countries in the GCC, South Asia, and Eastern Europe.
Dubai’s reputation for safety, connectivity, and quality experiences continued to attract visitors from both traditional and emerging markets.
DET’s global campaigns, celebrity-led promotions, and partnerships with major hotel brands further cemented Dubai’s position as a must-visit destination. Officials say the city remains on track to surpass annual tourism targets, boosting its status as one of the world’s best cities to visit, live, and work.
