Abu Dhabi Airports has announced a strong first half of 2025, welcoming more than 15.8 million passengers from January to June, a 13.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

The majority of this growth was driven by Zayed International Airport (AUH), which alone handled 15.5 million passengers, up 13.2% year-on-year. The other four airports in Abu Dhabi include Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Sir Bani Yas Airport and Delma Airport.

This steady growth in passenger numbers was supported by 133,533 total flights across Abu Dhabi’s five airports, with AUH accounting for nearly 94,000 of those movements.

In just six months, 16 new destinations were added, including Shanghai, Madurai, and Damascus, along with increased flight frequencies by leading carriers such as China Eastern Airlines, Air Seychelles, and IndiGo.

Significant infrastructure projects also reached key milestones during the first half of 2025. This included rehabilitation works at Sir Bani Yas Airport to support eco-tourism. AUH also received 3 Pearl Estidama rating for sustainable construction and was recognised as the ‘Best Airport at Arrivals Globally’ for the third year in a row by the Airports Council International's Airport Service Quality Awards, affirming its world-class passenger experience.

These developments highlight Abu Dhabi’s growing position as a global aviation and logistics hub.
